HANDBOOK AND GUIDELINES
ATTENDANCE
ATTENDANCE POLICY: Attendance for mandatory rehearsals is required
to ensure that the students are at their best as a group for the competitions. This requires practices as a FULL group in
addition to practicing at home. If your child is sick or there is a death in the family, please contact us, and we will give
a pre-approved excused absence from the rehearsal. As the parent, we encourage you to support your child by ensuring that
they arrive on time to the practices & competitions.
Absence Policy: 3 Days technique
3 Days Choreography
This will be strictly enforced.
Any absences
beyond missing three days of technique and three days of choreography will result in termination from the group. Note: All
absences must be pre-approved or you will be replaced.
These absences
will be excused if there is a performance of a dance related issue. But, remember those that don’t miss and get the
extra hours in, might progress and are chosen for the appropriate dances.
Everybody should arrive at least 15 minutes early before class starts (not to socialize) but to stretch and warm the
body up. This will reduce the amounts of injuries that occur without proper conditioning.
If the student misses the technique class that students responsibility is to learn what went on in the appropriate
class. If you miss choreography it is the student responsibility to learn and make up for that absence.
More than 10 minutes late for class, will be considered as an absence. If there is an excusable tardiness, please call
the studio and give the staff the message.
Remember
these rules are in place for your child’s development in dance.
COMPETITIONS
COMPETIONS: All dancers and parents are
responsible for travel and accommodations beyond the required price of competition group.
All Company members and parents shall be together in one unified group supporting one another through the duration
of the competition.
All company members
must have their company warm up on at all times (this shows pride and team spirit). Of course this is exempt when wearing
the appropriate dance costume on. Parents can also display team spirit and wear a team shirt or self-made shirt that shows

SOLOS
At Attitudes we believe that solos are earned rather
than expected!
Guidelines for Solos:
1. They are earned by achievement in class.
2.
They will be voted on by a panel of instructors.
3. Solos will be paid for by the individual receiving the choreography.
4. This
can be paid from house hold chores.
5.
The entire Solo process is at the sole discretion of the
Director of A.C.D.C.
6.
The solo can be taken away if the individual does not take
appropriate steps to perfect the solo.
We all work hard to achieve these goals; sometimes we don’t accomplish these goals right away.
It gives us something to work for (A GOAL!)
REPORT
CARDS

priority at Attitudes Competitive Dance Centre.

this grade is not brought up by the next term, the student will be expelled from Attitudes.
